Role purpose:
Responsible for the forward planning and building of Pilot and third-party rosters to effectively support the company flying program and support commercial and operational demands. The role holder will collaborate with colleagues in the Training department to ensure rosters incorporate training needs, as well as working closely with colleagues in Operations. The role holder will also be responsible for ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance by maintaining and applying excellent knowledge in this area.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for planning and building rosters for pilots and third parties and maintaining rosters on the Leon system
  • Responsible for ensuring that crew resources are managed in the most efficient and cost-effective way, in compliance with documented statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for monitoring all flight set ups to ensure compliance with all flight time limitations as set out in Company Manuals (OMA chapter 7)
  • Responsible for investigating occurrences of regulatory extension or breach, collaborating with Safety & Compliance as required
  • Responsible for managing fatigue reports and assisting team members as required to improve roster quality and lifestyle enhancement through continuous improvement
  • Responsible for collaborating with our Training department to ensure training needs and requirements are met, including planning of operational training flights
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing pilot time off and leave in an efficient way and in accordance with Company procedure and leave bidding system
  • Supporting on-time performance, operational delivery and efficiency following the values and culture of One Air
  • Monitor crew qualification expiration and ensure planning of required interventions
  • Monitoring crew travel, hotel and transportation bookings and related invoices by working closely with Business Travel Coordinators to ensure accuracy and efficiency with the roster
  • Collaborating closely on a day-to-day basis with Business Travel Coordinators, Pre-Ops Crewing Officers and wider operations team to ensure seamless coordination and cover of the roles when necessary
  • Responsible for ensuring excellent communications with all external and internal stakeholders connected to our operations to ensure effective operational delivery
  • Responsible for ensuring they maintain a knowledge of company operations, documentation, regulating authority requirements, relevant systems and procedures
  • Actively support and deliver a safety culture and raise safety issues where and when required

Key skills, knowledge, experience required: 

  • Must have a sound knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Demonstrable experience working in a relevant role or department, with a knowledge of aviation management systems
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of applicable regulations with respect to Flight Time Limitations and Fatigue Risk Management would be preferable
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of Day-to-Day Crewing, Pre-ops or Rostering functions
  • Knowledge of the LEON flight software system preferable
  • Must have proven ability to plan and organise in a fast moving ever changing operational environment, with a keen eye for detail and acuity for problem solving
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and all-round communication skills with the ability to problem solve under pressure
  • Excellent team and customer focus skills
